SAINT DUNSTAN'S EPISCOPAL CHURCH AND PRESCHOOL

IN THE CITY OF TULSA

LABYRINTH

St. Dunstan's Church possesses a labyrinth on canvas which is periodically set up in the Parish Hall. Below are some guidelines for using the Labyrinth, and at the bottom of the page is a link to an informative web site for those who want more information on the Labyrinth and its history. Call the church office at 918.492.7140 if you have any questions regarding St. Dunstan's labyrinth.

GUIDELINES FOR THE WALK

Clear your mind and become aware of your breathing. Allow yourself to find the pace your body wants to go. You may pass people or let others step abound you at the turns. The path is two-way, and those going in will meet those coming out.

The Labyrinth has only one path, so there are no tricks to it, and no dead ends. The path winds throughout and becomes a mirror for where we are in our lives. It touches our sorrows and releases our joys. Walk it with an open mind and an open heart.

THREE STAGES

SHEDDING - Until you reach the center of the Labyrinth, there is a releasing, a letting go of the details of your life. It quiets the mind.

ILLUMINATION - When you reach the center, stay there as long as you want. It is a place of meditation and prayer; receive what is there for you to receive. As you leave, following the same path out of the center as you came in. You now enter the third stage.

UNION - Joining God, your higher power or the healing forces at work in the world.

SHARE YOUR EXPERIENCES
