St. Dunstan's is a parish in the Episcopal Diocese of Oklahoma and a member of the worldwide Anglican Communion

MUSIC

The Anglican Communion maintains its strong heritage of musical splendor dating back to the fourth century A.D., and today the Parish of St. Dunstan's preserves this Anglican tradition of music and offers it to the Glory of God. The music program is affiliated with the Royal School of Church Music and the Choir and Choral Scholars sing for Holy Eucharist, Morning Prayer and Evensong, drawing upon their repertoire from giants of the English Cathedral tradition to Taizé.

The Choir and Choral Scholars have released a very successful compact disc recording featuring music spanning the centuries, from anthem, psalm chants and hymn settings. Click here for more information.

In addition to the church's choral services, the Choir has performed Haydn's Nelson Mass, Buxtehude's Jesu, meine freude, P.D.Q. Bach's The Seasonings, and portions of Handel's Messiah, among others. The Festival of Lessons and Carols is sung in Advent each year and is always highly anticipated by parishioners. The Choir rehearses Wednesday evenings from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, and once a year retreats to  St. Crispin's Conference Center for in-depth rehearsals and merriment.

St. Dunstan's also boasts its group of folk musicians known as dunstanfolk who offer music on the 4th Sunday of each month, and who have released a very successful CD of Christmas music available for sale in Dunstan's Shoppe.
