The story of Holy Week unfolds one step at a time. Walk the journey with us from Palm Sunday to Easter morning.

Holy Week is the heart of the Christian story. In these sacred days we walk with Jesus through celebration, companionship, sorrow, silence, and finally the joy of resurrection. Each service reveals part of the story. Together they invite us to enter more deeply into the mystery at the center of our faith.

Wherever you are in your journey of faith, you are welcome to come and walk this holy story with us.

Palm Sunday

The Journey Begins

With palm branches and joyful procession we remember Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem. Yet the celebration quickly turns as we hear the story of his Passion, reminding us how closely hope and sorrow stand together in the days ahead.

Maundy Thursday

The Table and the Commandment

We gather at the table with Jesus and his disciples to remember the Last Supper, the gift of Holy Communion, and Jesus’ commandment to love one another. In a powerful act of humility, we recall how Christ knelt to wash the feet of his friends, showing us the depth of servant love.

As the service draws to a close, the altar is stripped and the church falls into silence, marking the beginning of the long night before the cross.

Keeping Watch

Following the Maundy Thursday service, the church will be kept in prayer through the night and into the next day as we recall Jesus’ time of prayer in the Garden of Gethsemane while his disciples struggled to stay awake.

Members of the parish will keep watch in one-hour prayer times throughout the night.

During the vigil, the church will be filled with flowers and plants that will later adorn the altar for the first celebration of Easter, a quiet sign that resurrection joy is already drawing near.

The labyrinth will also be available throughout the vigil for those who wish to walk and pray.

Good Friday

At the Foot of the Cross

We gather in solemn prayer to remember Jesus’ suffering and death on the cross. It is one of the most powerful and honest services of the church year, inviting us to stand at the foot of the cross and wonder at this symbol of death which God will soon use to bring new and unending life.

Great Vigil of Easter

From Darkness to Light

The Easter Vigil begins in darkness as a new fire is kindled and the light of Christ enters the church. We hear the ancient stories of God’s saving work and celebrate the moment when death gives way to life.

This is the church’s first and most dramatic celebration of Easter.

Christ is Risen

The church bursts into light, music, flowers, and joy as we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus and the new life God brings to the world.
