The Vestry

The Vestry is the elected lay leadership body of our parish. Working in partnership with the clergy, the Vestry is entrusted with the spiritual, financial, and administrative well-being of the church. Together, they help steward our shared life, support the mission of the parish, and ensure that Saint Dunstan’s remains a faithful, healthy, and welcoming community.

The Vestry meets regularly to pray, discern, and make decisions that support the life of the parish—always with an eye toward transparency, accountability, and care for the whole community.

The Vestry typically meets on the third Monday of each month at 6:00 PM (check the calendar as this sometimes changes) and meetings are open to any member of the parish.

Leadership Roles

Senior Warden
The Senior Warden serves as the primary lay leader of the parish and works closely with the clergy in supporting the vision and mission of the church. This role often includes chairing Vestry meetings and offering leadership during times of transition.

Junior Warden
The Junior Warden traditionally oversees the care of church property and facilities, helping ensure that our buildings and grounds support worship, ministry, and community life.

Treasurer
The Treasurer oversees the financial life of the parish, working with the Vestry, clergy, and staff to monitor budgets, review financial reports, and ensure responsible stewardship of parish resources.

Clerk

Election & Terms

Vestry members are elected by the parish at the Annual Meeting each January. Members typically serve terms, with three of nine rolling off each year allowing for continuity in leadership while regularly welcoming new voices and perspectives. Each Vestry Member is elected for a three year term. Wardens are selected from among the Vestry members, and officers such as Treasurer and Clerk are elected or appointed according to parish bylaws.

Serving on the Vestry is a ministry of leadership, prayer, and care for the parish, and all members of the congregation are encouraged to discern whether they may be called to serve.
