Hunger Meeting Abundance

This Sunday's Gospel gives us the miracle of the loaves and fishes: five thousand people fed from what looked like nowhere near enough. It's a story about the gap between what we think we have and what God can do with it.

Our music follows the same path this week, opening with "Break Thou the Bread of Life" and closing with "Guide Me, O Thou Great Jehovah," a reminder that the God who fed five thousand on a hillside is still feeding us today.

With Grateful Hearts

Thank you to everyone who donated to the Pencil Box School Supply Drive. Cathy Luckenbach delivered a shopping cart full of supplies, and because of your generosity, we're also delivering a check for $465.00. Our Food Bank Team worked earlier this month and made a real difference in the lives of our neighbors in need. And at our Pride Service in late June, the offering raised $882.00 for Oklahomans for Equality.

Loaves and fishes, indeed. Thank you for continuing to show what generous lives look like.

Meal Kit Assembly for Street School Student Pantry

On August 16, we'll assemble shelf-stable meal kits for the student pantry at Street School, a project with tasks for everyone, from shopping to portioning to assembling. Sign-up sheets are in the lobby listing items and quantities needed; please pay close attention to sizes, since our recipes depend on it. Bring your items to church on the 9th and the 16th. We'll assemble the kits together in the parish hall on the 16th during coffee hour.

Food Bank Volunteer Opportunity

On August 18 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., we'll be volunteering at the Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma. It's a great opportunity to serve our community and lend a hand where it's needed most. Scan the QR code in the lobby if you'd like to join us.
