Take Up Your Cross
Jeremiah brings his complaint to God without softening it: he is worn out, and he says so. Paul answers a different way in Romans, calling us to a love that doesn't flinch, even toward people who've wronged us. And in the Gospel, Jesus tells his disciples plainly that following him means taking up a cross, not avoiding one.
None of this is comfortable. It isn't meant to be. But it's honest, and there's something steadying about a faith that doesn't ask us to pretend otherwise.

September 2nd | Exploring Your Legacy
Join us Wednesday, September 2nd for dinner at 5:30, followed by a short workshop at 6:00 on legacy: how you'd like to be remembered and how you might begin thinking through your final arrangements. We'll also share an early look at a new program we're planning, with more details to come.
September 6th | Bishop's Visitation
Bishop Poulson is coming to Saint Dunstan's on Sunday, September 6th, and it's a big one: three confirmations and two receptions into the Episcopal Church. Sunday Forum that morning will be taught by Bishop Poulson himself, on Benedictine Spirituality. This falls on Labor Day weekend, so plan ahead if you'll be traveling. We'd love to have the church full for this one.
September 9th | Dinner & Movie
Join us Wednesday, September 9th for dinner at 5:30, followed by a screening of Josie and the Pussycats at 6:00. Maggie Brooks will offer some context before the film and lead a discussion afterward.
September 13th | Potluck Luncheon
Join us after church on Sunday, September 13th for a potluck luncheon. We'll announce fall activities, a new edition of the Chalice and Tongs will be out that day, and there's much more parish fun in store. If you're able to bring a dish to share, sign up in the narthex.
September 30th | Come and See
Starting September 30th, we're launching a new Wednesday evening group for anyone carrying honest questions about faith, whether you've never set foot in a church, walked away years ago, or you're sitting in the pew right now with doubts you've never said out loud.
