A House Where All Can Safely Live
This Sunday we confirm and receive new members into the body of Christ, and the readings tell them plainly what kind of community they're joining. Ezekiel is told to speak hard truths or answer for his silence. Matthew lays out how to confront someone who has wronged you, directly, without shame games. These are stories about accountability, not comfort.
Our music holds the other half of that same commitment. "Let us build a house where all can safely live" and "Summoned by the God who made us" both name the kind of community those being confirmed and received are about to claim as their own. Safety and honesty aren't in tension here. They depend on each other.
This Sunday
Join us at 10:00 a.m. for Holy Communion with Confirmations and Receptions. Stay after the service to welcome and congratulate those being confirmed and received. Then at 11:45 a.m., Bishop Poulson will lead our Sunday Forum in Daniels Hall, discussing Benedictine Spirituality.

Dinner and a Movie
Join us Wednesday, September 9th for dinner at 5:30, followed by a screening of Josie and the Pussycats at 6:00. Maggie Brooks will offer some context before the film and lead a discussion afterward.
Potluck Moved to September 20th
Ginny Harban's family has asked to celebrate her 80th birthday with the parish, so we're moving the potluck to September 20th. The family will provide BBQ, and we ask everyone to bring sides and sweets. There will be no potluck on the 13th.
Preschool Sale, September 13th
Following coffee hour, stop by the old preschool space as we clear out the classrooms. Puzzles, games, toys, organizers, and other items are up for grabs, priced to go.
Serving Together
Altar Guild and Hospitality Team are both looking for a few more members. Each works from a rotating schedule of teams, so the commitment is lighter than it sounds, and we'd love to find a way to include you. If you're interested, call the church office.
Hygiene Items Needed
Last week Deacon Alan drew our attention to the need for hygiene items in the prisons. If you're able, consider picking up an extra item or two next time you're at the grocery store. Item lists are available in the lobby.

Join us for dinner at 5:30, followed by an introduction to the Enneagram, a tool for understanding personality and spiritual growth. We'll share an online assessment ahead of time so you can know your number before you arrive. No prior experience needed.
Come and See Launches September 30th
We're starting a new Wednesday evening group for anyone carrying honest questions about faith, whether you've never set foot in a church, walked away years ago, or you're sitting in the pew right now with doubts you've never said out loud.
