Not Only the Gospel, But Ourselves
This Sunday, someone tests Jesus by asking which commandment is the greatest. He answers with two: love God with all your heart, soul, and mind, and love your neighbor as yourself. The second one comes straight from Leviticus, which we also hear this morning, and Jesus says the whole law hangs on these two. Paul shows what that love looks like in practice. Writing to the church in Thessalonica, he says he came to them gently, like a mother caring for her children, and was glad to share not only the gospel but his own self.
This Sunday we also celebrate a baptism. Fr. Chris will ask all of us whether we'll support this member of our family, and we'll say yes. Most of the time, keeping that promise looks small. A hello at the door. A seat saved in the pew. Someone asking how your week went. Find them after the service and tell them you're glad.

New faces are coming through our doors, and a nametag is the easiest way to help them learn who we are. It helps the rest of us too. Need one? Drop a note with your name in the box in the Lobby, and the office will make one for you.
